What makes Wild House a sustainable business?
We do this in a number of ways, from production to the point of sale and beyond. Where possible, our ingredients are bought organic and fair-trade which supports less pesticides going into the earth (and your skincare!), as well as supporting better employment practices. In manufacturing we use recyclable and re-usable packaging so that once you've used up your product, you can compost or recycle any paper packaging, and recycle the bottles and jars. If you live locally to College Station or Austin, TX you can return your empty bottles and jars to Wild House at our market locations for a 50 cent return. The returned bottles and jars will be inspected for damage, cleaned, and re-used. You will also notice that all shipping materials are recycled packing supplies. This is in part some of the re-used packing materials used in shipping ingredients to us (like the cardboard boxes and biodegradable packing peanuts), and also old newspapers and magazines. This not only helps us keep costs down but it keeps your products safe on their way to you, without having to use new packing materials. We are working on a method to make returning jars and bottles for our online customers possible too!
Why the name Wild House?
Our ingredients were once growing in a garden, or on a farm, or in a beehive, or in lakes and streams and oceans, or as we like to call it, The Wild. That's where your products come from, and we want you to be reminded of that every time you look at our label.
I have never seen some of these products before, how do I use them?
Some of our products are new to some people, but we can promise that they are all easy to use and may be even simpler than your previous skincare routine. Every product comes with an instruction label right on the container, but please feel free to contact us with questions, or refer to our use-guide posted on our Gone Wild Blog.
Do you have a brick and mortar location?
We do not have our own storefront, but we do participate in markets and events all over South East Texas so if you live nearby, come and see us! We also have two retail stores that stock our products, Vintage Emporium in Idaho Falls, ID and Market 1023 in Bryan, TX.
What if I have very sensitive skin or allergies to any of your ingredients?
If you have any concerns about a reaction you may have to Wild House products you should consult a dermatologist before you use them. While our production equipment is thoroughly cleaned before and after use, we cannot guarantee that it is completely free from potential allergens. Many of our products contain tree nut oils and essential oils so if you have allergies to these ingredients you should not use Wild House products. It is for this reason that every ingredient, to include the specific essential oils used, are listed on our ingredients labels. Please read them, and if you have any doubts, please consult with your doctor or a dermatologist before use.
I suffer from acne, eczema, or some other skin condition. Will these products cure it?
Wild House cannot make any medical claims about our products, or their ability to cure potential skin and hair conditions.
